Tom Trenaman Passes Away
Feb 17, 2017

Feb 11, 2017 - Teamsters Local 89 is deeply saddened to announce that retiree Tom Trenaman passed away Friday night at the age of 73.

Tom was a former Business Agent at Teamsters 89 who retired in 2000. According to Trustee Brian Hamm, Tom was instrumental in convincing UPS to locate the Air District in Louisville in 1981, rather than Dayton, Ohio. Starting with just 65 members, the UPS Air District today employs over 8,000 Teamsters. Hamm added that he appreciated Tom’s support and guidance throughout the years.

Prior to becoming a Business Agent, Tom had worked at Jeffboat where he served as the Chief Steward for many years.

The officers, agents, and staff of Teamsters Local 89 wish to express our deepest sympathies to Tom’s family in their time of mourning. We also wish to express our gratitude for the years of dedicated service he gave as a leader.

This post will be updated when we learn details about the funeral arrangements.

Update: Visitation will be held 1-8 PM on Monday, and the funeral will be held at 10AM on Tuesday at Fern Creek Funeral home (5406 Bardstown Rd).

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial gifts be given to Hosparus.
