Allied Ready Mix
Oct 02, 2018

On September 9, 2018 the Local 89 membership employed at Allied Ready Mix voted decisively to reject the Company’s Last, Best, & Final offer. This was not the first time the membership had expressed its collective disapproval with the Company’s proposed contract terms. Among other things, Allied Ready Mix proposed to move the employees into a health plan which would significantly increase the employee out of pocket expenses and reduce benefits. Allied further proposed to establish a second-tier system with respect to new hire health benefits and costs and to remove all employees from their defined pension benefit plan. Despite Local 89’s desire to continue negotiations, Allied Ready Mix advised employees on October 1, 2018 that it would be implementing certain terms of its Final offer.

Local 89’s stated mission is to bring stability to the economy and community by safeguarding the livelihoods of Local 89’s members through collective bargaining and protecting each member’s right to fair wages, good working conditions, and dignity within the workplace. Local 89 wants the community to know that Allied Ready Mix’s final offer to their employees seeks unwarranted concessions and unduly harms our members.

Local 89 asks our Brothers and Sisters within the Labor Movement, as well as concerned citizens within our community, to voice their displeasure with Allied Ready Mix’s attempts to harm these hardworking employees. Those wishing to do so can contact Allied Ready Mix by mail or telephone at (502) 587-6679.
