World Class Corrugating members voted today, August 25th, to accept a new three-year contract by a 2/3 majority. The new agreement will provide Central States healthcare and pension and will preserve the rights of Teamster members.
As reported in previous posts, Teamster members were unfairly denied employment when the company’s previous owner Wheeling Corrugated sold the operation to World Class Corrugating. After action by Teamsters Local 89 and a subsequent NLRB complaint, the company met to bargain resulting in today’s ratification.
Members will begin returning to work on September 9th. We are pleased to see the Local 89 Teamsters back on the shop floor! Thank you to all of you who showed up to vote this Sunday afternoon!
