Tenative Agreement for World Class Corrugating Reached--Vote Sunday
Feb 07, 2014

A tentative agreement has been reached for World Class Corrugating (formerly known as Wheeling Corrugating).  According to Agent Roy Reynolds, the agreement has many similarities to the prior Wheeling contract before the company’s sale.   A contract explanation meeting and vote will be held at Local 89 on Sunday, August 25 at 2pm. If approved, members will receive Central States pension and healthcare among other improvements.

As we posted on July 19th, the National Labor Relations Board issued a complaint against alleged “successor employer” World Class Corrugating.  The complaint contends the company discriminated in the hiring of Wheeling employees despite its operations remaining essentially unchanged after last year’s purchase.  Possible remedies for the NLRB’s complaint remain in the legal process, despite the reaching of a tentative agreement.
