Moments ago, Central Region Vice President Avral Thompson attended an emergency International Brotherhood of Teamsters General Executive Board (GEB) meeting via telephone. On the call, the General President made a motion to cancel the in-person 2021 IBT Convention that was to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In its place, a virtual, business only convention will be held. This motion was unanimously approved by the GEB.
