First announced yesterday, February 27th, on a Teamsters Transition Update call with General President-Elect Sean O’Brien, Teamsters Local 89 is proud to share that Jeff Cooper will be the next Construction Division Deputy Director.
Jeff currently serves as Vice President of Teamsters Local 89 and has been a member of Local 89 since 1990. He has been a Business Agent for Local 89’s construction division since 2000 and is known throughout our jurisdiction as a fierce and no-nonsense negotiator.
“I’m humbled and honored by this appointment, and I look forward to serving our members at a national level,” said Cooper. “There are a lot of issues we need to work through in Building Materials and Construction, and we look forward to rolling our sleeves up and getting to it.”
“Jeff has done a phenomenal job over the years. He routinely negotiates industry leading contracts at Local 89 and is well loved by all the members he represents,” said President Fred Zuckerman. “His leadership and experience will be instrumental in revitalizing our International Building Materials and Construction Division.”
The O’Brien-Zuckerman administration, as well as their appointees, will take over the International Brotherhood of Teamsters when they are sworn in on March 22nd.
