Local 89 Hero Brandon Caffee
Feb 03, 2017

Feb 26, 2012

On January 13th, Local 89 brother Brandon Caffee noticed smoke coming from a house while delivering his route for UPS. With quick action, Brandon stopped his vehicle, then ran to the house to make sure no one was at home in any of the 3 apartment units. As he began yelling and knocking on the first door, 2 adults ran out each with a baby. After helping the tenant in the 2nd unit to get out safely, he started knocking on the door of the 3rd apartment. By then half of the house was engulfed in flames. A man and a woman began screaming out for help and that they couldn't get to the door. Brandon yelled for them to crawl out of the window of the 2nd floor. At that time a man was driving down the street with a ladder in his truck, Brandon and some neighbors ran into the street stopping the man and used his ladder for the couple to climb down, just before the house was completely taken in flames. "I was raised a Christian and a Teamster and was taught to take action when others are in need," explained Brandon who is a third generation Teamster. His Grandfather is Larry Caffee a retired Local 89 Steward from Evans & Binsingers Furniture, while his Mother is Cindy Caffee who belongs to Local 783 and works at RC Cola. Good Job Brother!
