The Truth About Right-to-Work for Less Right-to-Work Hurts Everyone Workers in states with Right-to-Work laws have a consistently lower quality of life than in free bargaining states – lower wages; higher poverty, child poverty, and infant mortality rates; a greater likelihood of being uninsured; poorer education for their children; and a greater likelihood of being killed on the job.

On December 21, 2012, Administrative Law Judge Bruce D. Rosenstein of the National Labor Relations Board issued a Decision & Order against Voith Industrial Services, Inc. (a Ford Motor Co. contractor), the United Auto Workers (Detroit, MI), and United Auto Workers Local Union No. 862 (Louisville, KY). Judge Rosenstein found that Voith, UAW, and UAW Local Union No. 862 had engaged in a number of unfair labor practices at Ford’s Louisville Assembly Plant including the denial of workers’ rights under the National Labor Relations Act.

Teamster Members currently on Strike at IMI, voted today to keep Teamsters Local 89 through a Union Busting Decertification vote. With strong solidarity these unwavering Teamsters voted with almost unanimous support of 42 to 4. Teamster members at IMI have made it clear that they are willing to stick it out to get what they deserve.
