Attention Members of Teamsters Local 89:
Moments ago, Central Region Vice President Avral Thompson attended an emergency International Brotherhood of Teamsters General Executive Board (GEB) meeting via telephone.
We are sorry to announce the cancellation of this Friday’s normally scheduled General Membership Meeting and the Christmas Party that traditionally accompanies it.
Although we understand that this will be disappointing to members as it is one of the most popular events our Local Union holds, it is in the best interest of our members health and safety for us to do so.
Fred Zuckerman, Avral Thompson, Jeff Cooper, Brian Hamm, Robert Colone, Craig Burns, and James DeWeese have been re-elected by a margin of three to one. Thank you to all members who participated whether by mail-in-ballot or in person during the walk-in component over the last two days.
On November 18th, Teamsters Local 89 members at American Printing House unanimously ratified a new three year agreement containing numerous improvements over previous contracts.
As a follow up to our previous posting announcing the Special Called Meeting scheduled for October 12th at 7:30 PM, please be advised of the following if you plan to attend:
Masks must be worn by all attendees.
You must sign in and have your temperature taken prior to entry into the building.
You must be a member of Teamsters Local 89 to enter the building.
On Saturday, September 19th a contract explanation meeting and vote was held for members at Android Industries in Bowling Green, Kentucky. At the conclusion of the explanation, members voted unanimously to ratify the strongest agreement in their shop’s history.
