ATTENTION: LOCAL 89 UPS TEAMSTERS The International Brotherhood of Teamsters has called for a strike authorization vote at UPS – it is extremely important that all members participate in this vote to show UPS we are united to win the contract we deserve.

UPS WORLDPORT: LOUISVILLE AIR RIDER NEGOTIATIONS Despite days filled with long hours and intense negotiations, Local 89 and UPS remain far apart on several high-profile items such as shuttle compensation and full-time jobs.  The Company has repeatedly and stubbornly shown themselves unwilling to make any meaningful movement on these issues.

ATTENTION WORLDPORT TEAMSTERS This morning, Teamsters Local 89 received official notice from UPS (attached to this post) stating their intention to restructure the 2DA sort at UPS Worldport to be primarily a Sunday through Thursday operation.

SYSCO LOUISVILLE STRIKE ENDS IN VICTORY FOR DRIVERS April 8, 2023 - This evening, Teamsters Local 89 Sysco Drivers voted by a staggering 98% to ratify a new offer from the company, bringing a thirteen-day strike to a victorious end and establishing their first collective bargaining agreement. At the conclusion of the vote, President Avral Thompson swore in the Sysco Drivers as the newest members of our union.

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – At approximately 3:00 am on Monday, March 27th Sysco Delivery Drivers represented by Teamsters Local 89 began an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) Strike against their employer on National Turnpike.

Thanks to the combined efforts of many Teamster members in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, House Bill 135 concerning autonomous vehicles was defeated in the Senate Transportation Committee meeting last week. A last-ditch effort to attach the language to an unrelated bill on the Senate floor on the final day of the session was also defeated.

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – Approximately 190 ABM Shuttle Drivers who transport UPS employees to their job sites at UPS Worldport have joined Teamsters Local 89 in one of the largest organizing victories in Louisville’s modern history. In addition to being a historic win due to the number of workers involved, it was also achieved in an unprecedented fashion.

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – Sysco Delivery Drivers represented by Teamsters Local 89 have rejected their employers “Last, Best and Final Offer” by a resounding 88 percent due primarily to concerns about safety, quality of life, wages, and benefits.
