Feb 02, 2018 - National Master Agreement – Article 40, Section 3. It has come to our attention that speculation has been spreading about the Article 40, Section 3 proposal the National Negotiating Committee released for the UPS National Master Agreement (NMA).

Jan 10, 2018 -  The Teamsters Local 89 negotiating committee met with UPS for Louisville Air Supplement negotiations Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week. We would like to give you a detailed update on the progress of these negotiations, but there is no progress to report.

Jan 05, 2018 -  The Winter 2017 newsletter focuses on local negotiations with UPS and features UPS Worldport Steward Amy Hibbard on the cover. This issue also includes an organizing victory at Cordyon Pain Management Clinic, the re-election of the Local 89 Executive Board, 2017's Scholarship Winners, and many other stories.

Dec 12, 2017 -  We are saddened to report Brother Dwayne Michael Gellhaus has passed away.  Dennis worked at UPS Air for 11 years on the 2DA ramp. His daughter, Shelby Gellhaus, is also a Teamster member at UPS Air in 1DA Wing E. Please keep Brother Gellhaus’ family, friends and fellow Teamsters in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Nov 9th, 2017 -  The Teamsters Local 89 UPS Air Negotiating Committee met with the Company today for the first session of Contract Negotiations. Hundreds of proposals were submitted to Local 89 during the summer highlighting many issues, which helped us hone in on what our members want to see in their next contract. These proposals were fine-tuned by our committee and were submitted to the Company today, with further discussions scheduled for later in November.

Oct 24, 2017 - We are proud to share that Local 89 Vice President / Central Region Vice President Avral Thompson, and Local 89 Secretary-Treasurer John Bolton have been appointed to the National Negotiating Committee (NNC), and that Local 89 Business Agent Mike Rankin has been appointed to the UPS Freight Negotiating Committee.

Aug 28, 2017 Workers at a newly built IMI facility in Oldham County, Kentucky achieved a great victory today when they voted in favor of joining Teamsters Local 89. Recording Secretary and Business Agent Jeff Cooper was approached by these drivers approximately 20 days ago about becoming members of Teamsters Local 89.

August 7, 2017 - Today Teamsters Local 89 held a meeting for all UPS Stewards (Air and Ground) to discuss upcoming Contract negotiations.  Sixty-four stewards were in attendance at the five-hour meeting, which included a breakfast and lunch.
