Sep 30, 2015 - First reported at the September General Membership Meeting, after several years of talks Teamsters Local 89 has purchased the Grady's building and it's property that sits next to our union hall on Taylor Boulevard. Local 89 took ownership of the building today and will be renovating it for use by the Teamsters 89 Retiree Club.

Sep 29, 2015 - Teamsters Local 89 received a fax from the IBT Carhaul Division very late in the day on Tuesday. Fortunately we were able to catch this very important information so that we could get it out to our members as quickly as possible. The fax, which has been attached to this posting, is announcing a conference call for Wednesday, September 30th at 8 PM EST.

Sep 28, 2015 - To Teamsters Local 89 Carhaul Members, In response to my previous letter to General President Hoffa about the incomplete nature of the NMATA Tentative Agreement information given to Local 89 for disbursement to you, the members, I received a directive to refer to a revised online Summary that supposedly corrected these problems.

Sep 28, 2015 - At a meeting at the Local 89 union hall on Sunday, September 27th over 200 Carhaul members unanimously agreed to vote against the 2015 NMATA Tentative Agreement. The nearly two hour meeting started at 4PM and was conducted by President Fred Zuckerman and Vice-President Avral Thompson.

Sep 27, 2015 - On Saturday, September 26th Local 89 members unanimously ratified a new three year agreement with Kellogs. Included in this new contract are wage increases for all three years, 4% increases each year to the Central State pension fund, and the company paying for all Central States insurance including increases.

Sep 24, 2015 - To Teamsters Local 89 Carhaul Members, I have sent a letter to General President Hoffa in regard to the scheduled vote on the National Master Automobile Transporters Agreement (NMATA). The information the IBT has provided to date is inadequate and incomplete. It does not sufficiently explain all the proposed changes, most notably in regard to drastic overhauls to the wage rates.
