Applications for Local 89 scholarships for sons and daughters of ACTIVE members of the local union are now being accepted.  Five scholarships will be awarded to male students and five scholarships will be awarded to female students. Each scholarship is for the sum of $1,000.

Apr 15, 2014 - Rebco Teamsters recently ratified a new five-year contract in a unanimous, 14-0 vote.

Apr 05, 2014 - Aramark Teamsters in Bowling Green voted in a new three-year agreement on April 5th.  The Contract includes increases in Central States Pension as well as improvements in healthcare benefits.

Apr 01, 2014 - Ryder Teamsters at the Jeffersonville and South Louisville Locations overwhelmingly accepted a new agreement in an 18-2 vote.

Mar 30, 2014 - American Greetings Teamsters voted overwhelmingly to accept a new three-year agreement covering the Bardstown, KY Plant.  Among other improvements, the new contract includes an extra week of vacation for employees with 30 years of service as well as increases in yearly wages, shift premiums, and reimbursements for required footwear.

President Zuckerman has responded to a fax sent to Local 89 and other locals from UPS Division Director Ted Bunstine of Joint Council 28.  In the fax, Bunstine makes false and incorrect assertions not only regarding the Louisville Air Supplement, but also members covered under the 623 and Western PA supplements.

Pro-worker lawmakers in Kentucky defeated a so-called “right-to-work” bill today. In 15-4 vote, members of the Labor and Industry Committee of the House of Representatives sent a clear message that such attacks on working families will not be tolerated in the Commonwealth.

Feb 13, 2014 - On January 31, 2014, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) issued a complaint and “notice of hearing” against Jack Cooper Specialized and the Teamsters National Automobile Transporters Industry Negotiating Committee (TNATINC).
