Mar 31, 2013 - Members at Bimbo-Sara Lee throughout Local 89‘s jurisdiction voted unanimously to accept a two year extension to their existing contract.
Mar 22, 2013 - Due to an Audit performed by the International, the structure by which Local Union dues are calculated was changed for Local 89 to be in compliance with the Constitution of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Local 89 requested exemptions, however, we were ordered to implement the changes.
IMI members have voted 8-2 to accept the new agreement covering Scottsburg, Salem and Madison locations. The new three-year contract contains wage increases, preservation of healthcare benefits, and needed changes to work rules among other gains.

The Local 89 Chapter of the National Black Caucus will be hosting a Cornhole Tournament on Saturday April 13 at 2:00 pm. The event will be held at Teamsters Local 89 (3813 Taylor BLVD, Louisville, KY 40215). Registration will start at 12 noon.
The entry fee is $25 with three cash prizes which will be determined on the number of entries. Food will also be sold at the event.
A benefit will be held for Greg Argo, Husband of Local 89 staff member Janice Argo, this Saturday, March 16 at 11am. Greg was born with Cystic Fibrosis and has struggled with it most of his life. He is now on a list for a double lung transplant.
