We are now taking applications for the 2024 Teamsters Local 89 Scholarship Fund. All applications must be submitted by May 31st, 2024 to be considered. This application will also be printed in the upcoming Spring 2024 Teamsters Local 89 Newsletter.

UPS received a frightening Halloween surprise today when Specialists and Admins at the Louisville Centennial Hub voted by a significant 72% margin to join Teamsters Local 89. "We're proud to welcome the LCH Specialists and Admins into our family," said President Avral Thompson.

September 29th, 2023 – Late on Friday night, workers at the Sysco Louisville Warehouse voted by an overwhelming 92% to join Teamsters Local 89. Polling concluded at 8:00pm, and within minutes of ballots being opened it was clear that workers had emphatically chosen to make their warehouse a proud union shop.

On September 23rd, Shuttle Bus Drivers at ABM overwhelmingly ratified their first Teamsters contract with just one “no” vote cast. At approximately 180 employees, this is the largest newly organized shop to be added to Local 89 in decades and is one of the largest organizing victories of any union in modern Kentucky history.

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT There has been a great deal of misinformation spread about Teamsters Local 89’s position on the UPS Teamsters National Master Tentative Agreement, so allow us to set the record straight. Local 89 believes the 2023-2028 tentative agreement is the richest, most historic step forward for UPS members in our union’s history.
